FAQs
Postpartum
Why hire a postpartum doula?
When we become pregnant, it is easy to focus solely on planning our pregnancy and birth but forget about planning once baby arrives! We will likely uncover things you haven’t thought about, help you establish processes at home to support your postpartum time, kindly establish boundaries with friends and family, and so much more. Postpartum is an incredibly sensitive and important phase and we are here to support you in any way necessary.
What does a postpartum doula do during their visits?
This is really entirely up to you! We will help you implement the processes we set up during your postpartum planning visit, support you in light household chores (like laundry, dishes, etc…), help with meal prep, hold baby while you shower or nap or take a walk, run local errands (like grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, etc…), breastfeeding support, sleep support, and more! Let us know what you need and we will come up with a plan.
How long are your postpartum visits?
Our daytime postpartum visits are 3 hours long.
If I already have a birth support package can I add on postpartum support at anytime?
Yes! At any point you can add postpartum support to your birth support package. Often times, our clients don’t understand that they want postpartum support until they are in their postpartum phase. We are happy to add on support as needed.
Do you do overnight postpartum care?
Yes! Overnight support can be incredibly important (sleep is imperative). We require a 6 hour minimum for overnight support at $50/hour. During our overnight support, we will wake with baby for feedings, diaper changes, or simply holding baby so you can rest.
